Black Coffee

Black Coffee (born Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo) is a South African DJ, producer and songwriter from Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal. After early studies in jazz and a breakthrough appearance at Red Bull Music Academy (2004), he founded Soulistic Music in 2005 to release his self-titled debut. Over subsequent albums—including Home Brewed and the live project Africa Rising—he defined a lean, drum-forward house sound that folds in African percussion and melodic textures.
